The board located beside the B4221 near the old shop and PO has been taken down. It is replaced by one on the wall of the Community Shop and PO which has for some time now displayed agenda, notices and other matters.

Did you know….The fantastic team at Ross Community Development Trust (CDT) is a registered body for the checking, countersignature and submission of DBS applications? They also happen to be one of our Talk Community Hubs too!
They have a small team of trained, dedicated volunteers, who can conduct these checks to the necessary DBS standard. Alternatively, they can also act as an agent for other organisations which require DBS checks for staff and volunteers.
The cost of DBS checks managed by Ross CDT is:
• DBS check instigated by an employer for an employee: £50 (£40 DBS fee and £10 handling charge)
• DBS check instigated for a volunteer: £10 for associate or non CDT members. It’s free for full Ross CDT members, Good Neighbour Schemes and Talk Community Hubs (although travelling distances will need to be considered for mandatory in person document checks, if you’re not based in the Ross area)

Now that life is starting to return to normal post Covid 19, people are looking to get their lives back on track be it going shopping or visiting the doctors, hospital or the vets etc. Here at Dial a Ride we recognise that some people in your community may require a door-to-door service which we can offer.
We can offer a regular shopping trip on a set day (to be agreed) each week for £5.00 return per person which includes collection from the customers door with a drop off point in high town or at a supermarket. Collection will be one and a half hours later with a return to the home address (shopping will be carried to the customers door).
Dial a Ride also has the capacity to offer one off individual trips for your community as well, which can again be tailored to the customer’s requirements but still include door to door service and assistance. (The one-off trips can start for as little as £7.00 return).
All Dial a Ride vehicles have full disabled access, staff adhere to strict Covid protocols and masks can be provided to customers if required.

The NDP for the Linton received a positive referendum result on 6 May 2021.

No – 43 votes / 12.4%

This means that the NDP now has full weight. A report is being prepared for the Cabinet Member and it is anticipated that your plan will be adopted mid-June. At this point the plan will form part of the statutory development plan for Herefordshire.

You may have seen in the news this week that the Environment Agency and Herefordshire Council are using satellite technology to target sites where soil water run-off is causing big problems for the environment and the county’s roads.
Heavy rain in Herefordshire has led to a number of pollution incidents caused by soil running off into rivers and large quantities of mud washing onto the county’s roads resulting in hazardous driving conditions.
With more rain forecast the Environment Agency and Herefordshire Council are continuing to target landowners to remind them of their responsibilities.
Any assistance you can provide in raising awareness of ditch ownership and maintenance responsibilities would be helpful.
Any dangerous road conditions should be reported on 01432 261800 (24/7).
We are aware that a number of homes and businesses across Herefordshire have been affected by flooding recently. If you or anyone you know have suffered from flooding in the county, please do let us know where and what happened as this may help us to minimise flooding problems there in the future. In order to report flooding, as well as access other useful resources, please visit www.herefordshire.gov.uk/flooding.

There are things people can do to limit the impact of flooding, including preparing a personal flood plan, sourcing sandbags/flood barriers from local parish councils or builders merchants. More specialised flood prevention advice can be obtained from the National Flood Forum. It may also be useful to check the actual water levels at different locations in the county, as well as sign up to get Flood Warnings from gov.uk by phone, email or text message.
This can be a very anxious and stressful time compounded by the difficult position with Covid-19 therefore if you know of someone affected that could do with support Herefordshire and Worcestershire Healthy Minds service is available to help. This is an NHS service and care is both free at the point of contact and confidential. Herefordshire Healthy Minds, Previously known as Let’s Talk, supports people who are experiencing difficulties such as stress, anxiety, low mood and depression. In order to access the service, people must be 18 or over and registered with a GP in Herefordshire. People can self-refer by contacting 01432 347606 or completing the online self-referral form.
