Looking for funding? (you’ve come to the right place)
Have you heard about our new GrantFinder tool to help you look for community funding support?
The GrantFinder is a one stop shop for funding information, providing continuously updated funding opportunities. It enables you to browse the different grants which are available, whether you be a charity, social enterprise, community group or parish council.
GrantFinder gives you access to search through the thousands of Government, Lottery, charitable trust and other funds available on a European, national, regional and local basis.
If you have a specific project in mind, you can search for those funding opportunities which may be most relevant to you. For example, on a local level, a new addition is The High Sheriff Fund, which is open for applications until Monday 20 February, for projects which help keep young people out of the criminal justice system.

Don’t let bugs play on your mind! (that’s HANDi)
Parents and carers across Herefordshire and Worcestershire can now download the free HANDi app, designed to help you know what to do when your child is unwell. It contains information about when and how to ask for help, giving people more confidence in dealing with minor childhood health care conditions.
The HANDi app provides advice and support to parents and carers of children up to eleven years of age when their child is feeling unwell. It works by asking questions about your child’s condition, to help you decide the best course of action. Rest assured, all the advice has been developed and approved by local NHS paediatricians and other healthcare professionals.
The app offers simple and straightforward advice for conditions including asthma, wheezing, high temperature, diarrhoea and vomiting and abdominal pain, amongst others. Check symptoms and get instant, NHS-approved medical advice.

Woolly and Warm: National Lottery fund helps keep people warm with crafts
Weaving, sewing and felting – what do you fancy trying? Cultivating Learning and Nature (CLaN) have a great new project, to help people with the cost of living. They’ve been awarded a grant so that people across Herefordshire can join in a craft-based project, for free.
People will have the opportunity to take part in wool-based workshops to make draught excluders, hand warmers and rugs to help keep warm in the cold months. It’s also a great way to connect with people and improve their mental wellbeing.
The “Woolly and Warm” project encourages people to get active, be with others in a safe and non-judgemental space, and to be able to create something using natural materials.
The sessions coming up are:

- 11th February am Peg loom footrug – Ross-on-Wye Library
- 16th February am Felted hand warmers – Leominster Library
- 16th February pm Felted neck warmer – Leominster Library

- 17th February pm Felted neck warmer – Ross-on-Wye Library
- 18th February am Pegloom foot rug – Leominster Library

Gardening and wellbeing, they go together
The Cart Shed’s Gardening and Wellbeing course is a six-week course beginning on 27 February, and the good news is there are places still available. So if you know someone who would like to learn gardening skills and improve their wellbeing, The Cart Shed team are there for you.
The course is suitable for over 18s who are experiencing mental health difficulties or for those who have emotional imbalances in their lives. It’s a fully funded course, tailored to the experience and interests of those taking part – it will include basic horticultural skills such as pruning and plant identification.
The course days incorporate the “Five ways to wellbeing”, to help people develop an understanding of how to maintain their health and wellbeing. A hot meal cooked by volunteers in the outdoor kitchen is provided (tasty), for a suggested contribution of £3, and the course is run in a group environment. Participants will need to commit to attending for the duration of the course.
