Please see via the links below two NOTICES OF VACANCY IN THE OFFICE OF PARISH COUNCILLOR for Linton(South) Parish.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN on 13 December 2023 that a casual vacancy is deemed to have occurred in the office of Councillor for the above Parish following the Rule 5 of the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) (England and Wales) Rules 2006, provides that on a casual vacancy occurring in the office of parish councillor, an election to fill the vacancy shall be held if within fourteen days after the date of this notice (i.e. no later than 5 January 2024) has been given in accordance with section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972, notice in writing of a request for such an election has been given to the proper officer of the council of the district within which the parish is situated by TEN electors for the parish. If a request for an election is not received by the above deadline then the parish council will co-opt a person to fill the vacancy as soon as practicable in accordance with the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) Rules 1986. If there is an election, it will take place not later than 60 days (excluding dies non) after the date this notice is published. Election to fill Andrew Reeves vacancy
Jenny Freeman, Senior Suicide Liaison Worker, Victim Support, is in the process of reaching out to all the communities in Herefordshire via the Parish Councils, to let people know about a free and confidential service run by Victim Support for anyone who has been bereaved by suicide and living in Herefordshire. The service is able to support anyone from age 4+ (relevant DBS checks are in place) and the support goes beyond family members to include friends, colleagues etc., it does not matter when they were bereaved, it could have been yesterday or 10 years ago. The support is tailored to an individual’s needs and Victim Support work closely with a number of other charities and organisations in Herefordshire so are able to easily signpost if necessary.
