David Taylor-Black, Pastor at Gorsley Chapel sent apologies to anyone who was disturbed by the loud noise of fireworks on the evening of Saturday 25th August, and advises this was not a Chapel event but a private one, held in the field behind the Chapel.
Hello, I am contacting you from BBC Hereford and Worcester and it’s just really to give you heads up about a couple of things!
We are launching a new Evening show between 7 and 10 at night, basically bringing local radio and a local voice back across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Our show will consist of local community content – with a Presenter in the studio and a Reporter out and about.
What we are looking to do is run stories from the community and keep it local so some broad ideas are we are open to many more! This is not a replacement show so you will still have your sports, afternoons etc which you will appear on this is in addition – so for example if you are interviews in Breakfast or Mid Morning about an event… they will then say Nina will be there later on this evening….
- *Live from the Worcester Music Festival
*Live from the training ground with the Kidderminster Harriers ladies – to talk about training and get to know the team
*Live from sports events
*Live from rehearsals from a community panto
*Live with a team of Bell Ringers
*Live from a local pub darts competition
*Live from a Cookery class
*Live from an opening night at a Theatre
*Live from Local Events
*Live with big names playing in the area
*Live with behind the scenes at a Theatre speaking to the audience etc
We really want to reflect what is going on in your community and what matters, so the other side of it we would like to get involved with projects such as :
- *Volunteers to clear up a public space so the whole community can use it
* DIY SOS on a community hall in the village or town
* Helping with community groups to combat loneliness, helping raise awareness of foodbanks
*Helping set up a Youth Group
It’s not a full list but hopefully that will give you a picture. Obviously I am more than happy to go into more detail and come and have a chat – the show will go live on the 10th September, so I would love to hear from you and see if we can work together and help support some community projects, also to cover some community projects and all sorts of events on air.

The Herefordshire Local Plan Core Strategy, adopted in 2015, sets out an overall framework for the scale and location of new development across the county. The Hereford Area Plan (HAP) will set out detailed proposals to ensure the delivery of the targets for the city in the adopted Core Strategy. It will include policies and proposals for growth in the historic city of Hereford including specific proposals for housing, employment and urban regeneration. In doing so, the plan must also protect and enhance its attractive built and natural environment, providing for its current and future community needs.
A key policy area that the HAP needs to ensure delivery of is new housing and employment land. The Core Strategy identifies four strategic sites for housing and employment land at Three Elms, Holmer West, Lower Bullingham and the city centre area. These sites will account for a significant proportion of the city’s housing growth target for the plan period. It is the task of the HAP to identify further site allocations to aid the delivery of the remainder of the target.
Work has been carried out to prepare potential site options for the delivery of housing and employment growth for Hereford City and to help inform the preparation of the HAP.
For more details about the consultation and how to give your views on potential sites, please go to the website: www.herefordshire.gov.uk/herefordareaplan
Consultation on housing and employment site options will run from Monday 20 August until Monday 8 October 2018.
An exhibition will take place at The Courtyard, Edgar Street, Hereford, HR4 9JR on Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd August from 4-7pm, which will provide opportunities to view the plans and speak to officers.
The displays and information will then move to Hereford Library until Friday 5th October.
A call for sites is also running for the duration of the consultation period. The council is specifically looking for previously developed/brownfield land within the HAP area. If there are sites that have not been assessed before and you consider that they should be, please submit a site map plus a completed form by downloading it at: www.herefordshire.gov.uk/herefordareaplan. Please fill out the form to the best of your knowledge and return it to firstname.lastname@example.org. These instructions for submission can also be found on the council’s webpage.
The council encourages electronic submission but the form can also be posted to:
Forward Planning: Herefordshire Council; Plough Lane; Hereford; HR4 0LE
On the webpage, please note there is a map of the area to be covered by the HAP boundary, you may wish to check whether your land falls within the boundaries.
Please note that some Parishes within the HAP area will be producing Neighbourhood Development Plans (NDPs). This will mean that the information you submit therefore may be passed to the relevant Parish Council for their consideration.
All responses should be received no later than Midnight on Monday 8 October 2018.

Senior Planning Officer
A huge thank to you all who came along to the Neighbourhood Development Plan events in June and July and shared your views. It was wonderful to see so many of you and heartening for the Steering Group to know how many people do care about the future of our community.
The views and opinions that were expressed at these events are being collated by the Steering Group and will be used to design and create a questionnaire, with the help of a professional agency. We are planning to have the questionnaire ready to distribute to all households in September/October, so please look out for them!
We really need as many people as possible to contribute so we can create a robust and meaningful NPD that reflects the interest and opinions of the community. Although the turnout at our events was high, there are still many people who have not contributed so please can you encourage friends and neighbours to take time to fill in the questionnaires.
Many thanks again for your support. Let’s take control and make the NPD work for us all!
The NPD Steering Group team.
